About Us
Together We Grow is a fun and pleasant place for children to learn and grow ~ an inviting classroom with the warm feeling of home. Our program provides a learning experience through incorporating structured curriculum and activities into our daily routine. We utilize award winning platforms such as ABCMouse, Teach Your Monster To Read, and Education.com to provide exciting age appropriate activities to introduce basic reading and math fundamentals. In addition, the California Department of Education's Desired Results Development Profile (DDRP) is used to monitor children and assists staff in catering to each child's physical, cognitive, emotional and social development.
Our staff are continually trained in the essential health & safety protocols mandated by the State of California, including but not limited to Infant/Child CPR and First Aid, Mandated Reporting for Child Abuse, and Nutrition just to name a few. In addition, all staff either have obtained Associate Teacher certification, and/or currently working towards completion of Early Childhood Education related coursework.
Together We Grow believes in promoting an environment where positive and healthy learned behaviors are encouraged. We believe a strong and united society starts with instilling a sense of pride in oneself, our community, and humanity as a whole. We promote diversity and cultural acceptance, and encourage our children to celebrate their differences through practicing kindness towards others.
During the early childhood years, children learn primarily through "testing" and experiencing their environment. Exploring "what happens" in various types of scenarios and situations. They are little scientists discovering life. A supportive community and trusting adults prove to be vital to the development of a child. Together We Grow staff understands and values our contribution towards a child's developing blueprint. We strive to make an influential and lasting impression on each child, and family, we serve.

Along with completing the Associate Teaching program through American River College, in spring of 2020 Ms. Tunson acquired TESL certification to teach English as a second language. This training provided more concentrated focus on "how" we learn, and effective teaching methods to use when educating children learning a foreign language.
Since April 2020, "Ms. Ashanti" has been utilizing her early childhood education certification through providing specialized nanny services to three different families. This care includes nurturing a four month old infant, one toddler, and two preschoolers (one diagnosed with autism). Despite the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, Ms. Ashanti has remained dedicated to the ECE profession; providing an opportunity to bring teacher support and traditional school learning into the home.
Ms. Tunson opened Together We Grow to accomplish a life-long goal of entrepreneurship, and most importantly fulfilling her passion towards inspiring younger youth. "I believe that children are our future, teach them well and let them lead the way. Show them all the beauty they posses inside. Give them a sense of pride to make it easier. Let the children's laugher remind us how it use to be".
